April Dupree,
Owner/Founder
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
April Dupree, LCMHC
Hi, I'm April Dupree, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) passionate about helping you navigate life's challenges. I believe true healing comes from an approach tailored just for you, which is why I use a blend of therapeutic techniques to meet your unique needs.
Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, major life changes, or the impacts of trauma like PTSD, I'm here to support you. I also work with concerns around domestic violence, sexual issues, self-esteem, and past suicidal ideation or attempts.
My practice is rooted in client-centered therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), giving you practical tools for change. As a trained EMDR therapist, I'm especially equipped to help you process and heal from difficult past experiences. I truly believe that many of our current struggles stem from unaddressed trauma, and with the right support, you have the incredible strength within you to find healing, discover your potential, and build a more fulfilling life.
Butterfly Counseling, PLLC
Butterfly Counseling, PLLC was established in 2021 by April Dupree and officially launched in January 2022. The practice was founded in loving memory of April's mother, imbuing its mission with a deep commitment to compassionate care.
The name "Butterfly Counseling" was chosen to represent the profound transformative journey inherent in personal growth and healing. Much like a butterfly's metamorphosis, our work focuses on guiding individuals through significant life transitions, supporting them as they move from one stage to another, and empowering them to emerge as stronger, more resilient versions of themselves. We are dedicated to facilitating your personal evolution.

Outside of her passion for increasing access to mental health care, she enjoys spending time with her dog and six chickens.
-
Daisy Santin
Waldon University Intern
I'm thrilled to introduce myself as a new intern at Butterfly Counseling who can have sessions in Spanish or English! I'm currently completing my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, building upon my Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
As a first-generation Hispanic female with a college degree, I bring a unique perspective and a deep understanding of life's various challenges. I'm here to walk alongside you in your journey, offering a safe space where your voices are seen and heard. I firmly believe in the power of second chances and the resilience of the human spirit.
My personal experiences, including being a mom to an amazing autistic child who is the center of my world, have shaped my approach to therapy. He has taught me invaluable lessons, and I continue to learn from him every day. When I'm not working, I love spending time outdoors and cooking with my son, making precious memories with my family.
I'm excited to be a part of this community and look forward to connecting with you all.
